Share links and expiry, explained

Every build you upload gets one link. Anyone who opens it on a phone sees the app name, icon and version, and can install straight from the page — no App Store, no cable, no TestFlight invite.

Public vs. invite-only

By default a link is public: anyone with the URL can view and install it, which is fine for a quick one-off share. Switch a project to invite-only from its dashboard and only testers you’ve explicitly added can open it — visiting without an invite shows a locked page instead of the app. Pro plans can also set a password on a link as a lighter-weight alternative to full invites.

The link itself never changes as you ship new versions — it always resolves to the latest build in the project, while every earlier version stays reachable from the same page’s history.

Why builds expire

App Dropper is a distribution tool, not a backup service, so every build has a retention window and is deleted automatically once it lapses:

• Anonymous / unsigned uploads expire after 3 days.
• Signed-in accounts get 7 days on the free plan, and 30 days on Pro.

The build’s dashboard card shows exactly how much time is left, with a warning once it gets close. If you need more time, open the build and use extend expiryto push the deadline back before it’s gone — after that, the binary is deleted for good and the link stops resolving.
